Now open!

Parents, we have openings in our 6th grade class for the fall 2019 semester.  Please apply late at the Unified Enrollment link above.

Our new Pioneering Science Magnet will be an innovative, cutting edge, hands-on learning experience for students interested in engineering, computer automated design, and robotics.

If you are interested in learning more about our Pioneering Science Magnet, contact Mr. Garcia at 818-678-7924.

The Pioneering Science Magnet is a focused program for young learners who dream of a career in sciences. Through this program, students will experience hands-on learning within their academic subjects through the lenses of emerging technologies such as coding, engineering, and robotics.

Field experiences will coordinate with their in-class learning. These include field trips to: NASA/JPL, HexLab MakerSpace, the Discovery Cube, and the California Science Center.

Makers Lab

Lawrence Middle School has a new Makers Lab in Room 4, The Den of Innovation! This exciting creation lab was funded through a partnership between LAUSD and the non-profit foundation, Two Bit Circus. The Den of Innovation is a destination where our students become scholars, inventors, creators, and imagineers as they bring their learning to life through making.  Making is an essential component of STEAM education as well as literacies across the curriculum. The Den features a robotics corner, central making center, and other areas that will be set up for: origami, gratitude, and business campaigns.
